- A task is an activity considered to be necessary or beneficial for living up to the purpose of the organization.
- In other words: every task in an organization must serve the purpose of the organization.
- Due to the operational variety of tasks (and particular skills needed to accomplishing the tasks), tasks are often distributed into functions and roles. This distribution is accomplished by an operating system.
- Inappropriate tasks are very likely to prevent the organization from fulfilling its purpose.
- A task of a role is a piece of work assigned to a role. This can be deliveries, services, support, errands…
- A role´s task consists of certain activities or actions, that are essential or at least useful and meaningful to delivering or completing the task.
